Soggy diapers and rescue

Today, I took M to "Toddler Time" at the local rec center's pool. It is a really neat facility and more like an indoor waterpark for kids than a pool. The designated toddler area has a beach entry, which worked out great for me to sit in the water with her. She loves bathtime so I was hoping she would enjoy swimming. She definitely did. :)

She had to adjust to the water at first - she's used to her nice, warm bath. The water wasn't cold, but it certainly wasn't bath water! After that, she just kicked (a lot!), splashed, smiled, and even giggled a few times. She spent a lot of time just looking around and taking all of these new sensations in. It's so much fun to watch her learn. I've also never seen a diaper that bloated and full before!! It probably weighed more than she does by the time we got out!

In other news, I have found a JRT Rescue for the St. Louis area. I have not contacted them yet, because I am waiting to see if anyone I have been putting the word out through networking will want him first. I would love for him to go to someone that I could at least check in on him from time to time. But I am prepared to do what I need to do. The JRT Rescue will find a good permanent home for him, so at least I wouldn't have to worry about that. They also offer "foster care" until they find a home, as they are located in the country on a good piece of land. He would be happy there too. It breaks my heart, but I know I've got to be strong. Everytime he tries to attack M, it makes it easier. Which is everyday. He will be gone before the new year, one way or the other.

  1. So glad little M had fun. Still sorry about everything that is happening with your dog, but it looks like God is making a way.

  2. (((HUGS))) I am so sorry about having to give your Oliver away. But it sounds like he will find a good home.
